Solid Waste and Materials Management Policy
In the credit criteria table for the Solid Waste and Materials Management Policy remove the sentence and 4 bullets listed;
"including, at a minimum the following:
· Ongoing Consumables,
· Hazardous Materials,
· Movable and Electronic Goods and
· Construction Waste from Churn and Alteration"
As the above 4 bullets are already listed/described in the Credit Criteria description under the subheading.
Waste to Landfill Diversion Construction Waste: Churn and Alterations claiming the point as Not Applicable
Where project team(s) wish to claim the Solid Waste Management, Waste to Landfill Diversion Construction Waste Churn and Alterations as Not Applicable due to no churn or alterations taking place during the performance period,
Under Documentation Requirements add:
- Provide a letter from the Facilities Manager or Waste Contractor that there was no construction waste during the performance period.
Mat 2: Solid Waste Management, Waste Stream Audit of Ongoing Consumables, Operational Waste and Materials Management
Under Credit Criteria, within the Operational Waste and Materials Management Plan table A,remove 'Identify the areas to which the OWMMP applies. For instance in a shopping centre, some shops may be responsible for their own waste management. Where this is the case, this must be clearly identified within the OWMMP.' and replace 1. Scope with the following: 'Results of the waste stream audit which are used as the base for the OWMMP must be included within the OWMMP. Identify the areas to which the OWMMP applies. For instance in a shopping centre, some shops may be responsible for their own waste management. Where this is the case, this must be clearly identified within the OWMMP.'

Points allocation for percentages

The GBCSA the following under Credit Criteria:
Up to 3 points are awarded where the following percentages (by
mass or volume) of operational waste and materials are diverted
from landfill during the performance period*:
25% = 1 point
50% = 2 points
75% = 3 points

- On the second page of the Mat-2 credit (2nd paragraph) is states that the policy needs to be put in place prior to the start the project's and be throughout the performance period.
Change the wording to the below:
A Solid Waste and Materials Management Policy, must be developed and adopted/approved during the performance period.
