The EDGE Base Case Value for South African projects has been aligned with SANS 10400-XA:2021 Table 6. Where project specific details have been entered in the calculator and a shortfall in performance (U value) is noted in meeting the Base Case, and project information is included to confirm compliance with Table 6 (e.g.50mm cavity wall, Energy Zone 1), the input on the EDGE App can be adjusted as below:
- Confirm wall details have been input in the calculator per the project documentation
- Add a custom material to adjust the EDGE App input to align with the Base Case/SANS 10400-XA:2021 Table 6 value. The custom material is to be named “SANS Baseline” to ensure easy identification by the Auditor and Reviewer.
All project specific documentation should be provided to confirm the material selection for the wall construction, clearly indicating compliance with SANS 10400-XA:2021 and the details of the adjustment noted in the Client Comments.
